Socosat is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing homelessness in our community. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home. Homelessness in Kansas City
Did you know that in Kansas City, MO, youth homelessness is a major challenge that requires attention and action. According to the 2020 Point-in-Time Count, there were 384 unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness on a single night in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This number has increased from the previous year, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

Aiming to address the challenges faced by homeless youth, families, and veterans, including lack of access to basic needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing, limited educational and employment opportunities, and vulnerability to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, Socosat is writing this letter to express its intention to request funding/sponsorship to support its mission. Socosat’s mission is to empower homeless youth, families, and veterans in Kansas City by providing a safe and supportive environment, through comprehensive support services, educational opportunities, positive relationships, and referral services.
